another strange holiday

well, our new years eve was also a bit odd this year. we spent the day with nick. it was cool beacuse he was able to leave for a 6 hour visit with us. we came to the house and ate lunch together and played withthe dogs. then we took the max in to the zoo and saw most of the zoo, then rode the train home. it was pretty rainy out but fun to see all the animals. we rolled nick around in a wheelchair since he is in a cast for a broken leg (broke it during dodgeball). he will be moving to the children's farm home next wednesday. its in corvallis (about 2 hours away) so we won't see him very often.

later that evening, cv decided he'd really like to go to the hockey game. to avoid paying for parking and to avoid the drunk drivers, we decided to take the bus. we got down to the rose garden and "lo and behold" they wouldn't sell us a ticket. we couldn't figure out why all the box offices were closed, so we called our friend Ian who works there and it turns out that the game started at 5 p.m., so we were like two hours late! whoops! ah well. so we decided to go to a movie at the mall, but nothing was showing until 10:45 p.m. that we wanted to see. so, then we wandered around more in the rain, CV peed in a parking garage, and then we rode the bus back home. we watched the Godfather on tv and then hit the hay at about 11 p.m.
