christmas

well christmas day was a bit strange. it started out normal with christmas music, breakfast and present opening. we got so many wonderful gifts! my favorite from cv is a star lamp for our front window.

later we went to see nick and he was in a hold when we got there. i was sad he was making bad choices that day. the guy there was weird and told us to "go get some coffee somewhere and call back." of course, being christmas day there wasn't much open. we found a mexican store and had chili relleno, sope & a taco for christmas dinner. we went back to alb kerr and by then nick was fine. (its hard to understand when he's all wound up one minute and normal the next.) we had a good time opening presents and nick really liked his gifts. he gave me a red chenille hat & gloves and CV a big soft teddy bear.

we rested at home a couple of hours then went to set up for church. we did a lot of cool things--a labyrinth, places to look at icons and write prayers, and another place for lectio devina "Holy Word". there was also the usual altar with communion and worship music. then a large assortment of refreshments. and guess what? one person came! yikes! we each had good time with the Lord but it was dissapointing to set all of that up and have just me, CV and Liz. oh well.

personally God revealed to me my need to let him be parent and me the child and the further need for me to not mix up those roles in my interpersonal relationships.

i took a long bath with my new lavendar bath salts i got from nikki for christmas and went to bed. cv's "boss" gave him the day off today, so we are doing all the post christmas activities--many happy returns, etc.
