fires

my mom and chip were some of the folks in oklahoma city that got hit by the wildfires. about 7:30 last night they woke up (yes--woke up--they live on a ranch and get up at 4 a.m. so they go to bed really early) to 60 ft. flames behind their house across the dry creek bed. there were about 25 firefighters out there last night until 11 p.m. then chip and my mom were up til 2 p.m. putting out embers.

fortunately they only lost cedar trees. it burned 1/4 of their land though. their house, equipment and propane tanks were okay. i'm really thankful that both of them and all of their animals are fine.

Well, to add to your story,..I just finished all that I can do,...our land started in flames again. I have sprinklers everywhere around our home....A guy from my Master Gardening class started knocking on our back door in a panic to tell me we were on fire again and that he had already called 911. So, the fire dept was at work again on our land. We are to have 60 mile an hour winds tomorrow so, I won't be leaving home because I will be looking for any fires on our land. Sure wish we had a look out tower, it would make it so much easier but we do have great neighbors!!! We are so-o-o blessed and we are so-o-o-o thankful!!! for the protection. Keep us in your prayers!! Much Love, Mom
