statistics lie

this thought provoking ad is in my preceptors office. her name is barb oyler and she is a PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner--what I am going to all this school to become!). i really like her perspective and her presence with the clients. she seems to really get the whole treasure of being therapeutic.
she mentioned today a school she went to that really focused on relationships for kids with emotional needs. isn't that what we all need-- relationship? we all need to be valued for what really matters. the essence of us. not the exterior figure, the acheivement, or the status.

i really like that Nike is saying positive things about women, and body image. It seems to be such a big problem that is not addressed as much as it should be.
So here's to hoping that the next generation won't be striving to look like someone else; that they can love themselves for who they are, and not what others are telling what they should be.
