simmer

well i've simmered down from about an hour ago when i got a voicemail from nick's case manager that they will be moving him to residential. it is so infuriating to know that
1) his foster family made the county move nick right away because the county wouldn't pay them enough
2) now they are paying even more than the foster family asked for his care at subacute
3) they will be paying even more for residential care that doesn't work for him!
Simply put, Nick needs a mix of structure and consistent relationship to stabilize. In therapeutic foster care he sleeps, eats, acts reasonably safe, etc.
when he is in residential, there isn't enough relationship and he manipulates the system and regresses in behavior (violence, refusing to eat, etc), which a over a year ago landed him in the most acute site in the state at a staggering high cost!
anyway--i plan to talk with the case manager and such tomorrow. i really pray that it can make a difference for him.
now i am working on christmas prep--i am so excited about my family arriving this weekend. my dad, brother, his wife, and my neice will be here fri/sat. so we are doing the cleaning, present wrapping, and general decorating tonight and tomorrow night! i have quite a lot to do and am trying to plunge ahead. tick tock tick tock--i better get back to it!
