today i awoke to wind outside, gusty and moist like at the coast. we had storms here last night with winds up to 75 miles per hour.

later we had the pest control man come by to help us find the stench. he found a dead rat under the house and something else smelly trapped under our porch that we've been charged with getting out ourselves. then we are supposed to pour enzyme cleaner everywhere to clean the smell. we also found out we have wood beetles in a beam underneath the house. time to exterminate.
