thankful

today CV and I went to Genesis for worship since Vibrant is doing the Super Bowl thing today. it was really encouraging to hear Pastor Frazier's sermon. he reminded us of God's word from Ecclesiastes & Job == to everything there is a season and "are we to receive good from the Lord and not bad?" he reminded us to be thankful and treasure all God has given us in its time. thankful for our families and for his provision.

i am thankful today for a husband who loves me, loves God and his people. . .
for parents who love and support me . . . for a precious little boy who calls me "mom" . . . for two cuddly dogs and a soft cat . . . for way too much food in my cupboard . . . for a brain to learn and a career i am passionate about . . . for a fun, loving brother, sister-in-law and baby niece who giggles . . . for a precious house in a diverse neighborhood . . . for sunshine! . . . for a body that works and can exercise . . . for wonderful friends who pray for me . . .

God is good and faithful to me. Help me to remember that always . . .

Cool new template! I like the dots.

We do have so much to be thankful for. Isn't it amazing that the lasting good things are the intangibles- the things we can't buy. Our consumer culture would like us to think that happiness is actually in the next purchase, the newest luxury. I listen to that siren song too often.

He calls you mom? He is very lucky to have you as a mom. I mean that sincerely. The way you advocate and pray and spend time with him is really special.
